Context and challenge
Unwanted loneliness is a complex experience that can affect wellbeing without always being visible to the people around us. The project explored how a digital product might help young adults recognize emotional patterns and take constructive, low-pressure steps.
The challenge was to create support that felt useful without presenting the product as a replacement for professional mental-health care.
Research and evidence
The process combined desk research, surveys, interviews, affinity mapping, and persona development. The evidence pointed to a need for privacy, emotional clarity, manageable activities, and language that avoids judgment.
Research artifacts were used to narrow the problem and guide the product principles before interface decisions were made.
Approach and key decisions
The concept centers on conversational check-ins, personalized activities, reflective content, and progress awareness. Each decision was framed around helping a person understand what they feel and choose an appropriate next step.
The experience was prototyped and iterated as a coherent journey rather than a collection of disconnected features.
Outcome and lessons
The final concept demonstrates a clearer, more supportive path through emotional check-ins and wellbeing recommendations. Specific business metrics are not applicable to this conceptual project.
The work reinforced the importance of defining ethical boundaries early when designing products related to wellbeing.
